'True Blood' star Evan Rachel Wood reveals huge crush on Adam Lambert

Katy Perry isn't the only female celebrity who has a crush on Adam Lambert.

Evan Rachel Wood told Fox News that she has the hots for Lambert in a major way. The 21-year-old actress has a penchant for androgynous men and has been romantically linked to singer Marylin Manson.

Wood said,
"I probably couldn't help myself, that guyliner is so amazing. But he's got an incredible voice, talent is very sexy. I love that he's so androgynous, he just doesn't care, has fun and wears whatever he wants."

Fans pack the Tulsa BOK Center to cheer for 'Idols'

Fans packed the arena to cheer for their favorite singers from the top 10 finalists of America's most popular TV show's eighth season.

Winner and Arkansas homeboy Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert closed the show and drew the biggest cheers — but their sets could not have been more different.

Allen played stripped-down, soulful versions of pop and rock favorites, while Lambert played a sexed-up set of metal-infused, artsy glam rock.

Allen — sporting jeans and a plaid shirt — opted for a set that included Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine," the Killers' "All These Things I've Done" and the Beatles' "Hey Jude."

Lambert, decked out in a spiked black leather jacket and sparkly belt buckle, slithered through a set that included Tears for Fears' "Mad World," Muse's "Starlight" and a medley of David Bowie hits.

Jennifer Lopez not Replacing Paula Abdul on American Idol

Jennifer Lopez is denying reports that she’s in the running to replace American Idol judge Paula Abdul, who still hasn’t signed a contract with Idol producers to return for season 8 of the FOX hit singing competition.

A rep for Lopez tells PEOPLE exclusively, “The rumor of Jennifer Lopez throwing herself in the ring to take over for Paula Abdul is completely false. Jennifer loves Idol but just as a fan. She just wrapped the feature film The Back-Up Plan, due out January 2010, and will release an album then as well.”

Lopez turned 40 on Friday and her rep adds, “This weekend Jen is celebrating her birthday with friends and family.”

The reports surfaced after Lopez and Idol host Ryan Seacrest were spotted having dinner at Madeo in Los Angeles earlier this month. Seacrest told paparazzi outside Madeo that “Jennifer and Paula would be a hell of a combination” on the show.

Adam Lambert shares his favorite Movie Scene with Movieline

“One of my favorite movies of all time is Velvet Goldmine, by Todd Haynes, and the scene that comes to mind is when Ewan McGregor’s character is first introduced and he’s a singer, a rock star, and the camera comes in on him — he’s on stage — and he gets naked, pours beer all over himself, then glitter on top of that. He shakes the glitter can around his crotch like he was jerking off onto the audience and then lights the foot of the stage on fire. And to me, that just sums up everything that a rock star should be. It’s like a fantasy sequence.

That movie is absolutely brilliant — and a little underrated in my opinion, too. I was about 22 when I first saw it, and I was just like, whoa. It’s a movie loosely based on a Ziggy Stardust-type character and an Iggy Pop-type character. It doesn’t specifically name them but they’re clearly modeled after those two rock stars, and it’s just cool. It’s a love letter to the glam scene.”

Kris Allen and Adam Lambert talk "No Boundaries"

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Cutting Kara DioGuardi's "No Boundaries" from the American Idol tour was a no-brainer for Kris Allen.

"Taking that out is kind of helping my set a little bit," Allen explained to us this morning as he and Adam Lambert picked up their new Ford vehicles at Galpin Ford just outside of Los Angeles. "It gave it a little bit more energy … It just felt like a better fit to put something else in."

Critics and fans have pretty much trashed "No Boundaries," which DioGuardi cowrote, ever since it debuted as the American Idol victory song during the finale in May. Allen has replaced it with The Killers' "All These Things That I've Done." "Everyone knows that song," Lambert said. "It's really great."

Our favorite singing bromancers also talked about which Idol alums they'd like to work with... "I love Kelly Clarkson," Allen said. "She's incredible, so that's who I'd want to work with."

Lambert is a big fan, too. "The album Kelly just came out with is fantastic," he said. "Great writers, great producers. She wrote a bunch of songs on there, and Katy Perry—my girl—wrote songs on there, too. It's great." But then Lambert added, "I want to work with Fantasia, just hollerin' back and forth."

On a more serious note, the openly gay Lambert said he's trying not to think too much about protesters who showed up at one of the recent Idol tour stops. "I don't think I'm going to change their minds," he said. "I respect their opinion, but they didn't need to come to a concert and spread negativity...Go use your energy for something productive."

Idols open up about life on the road. Adam Lambert: "I've never made a sex tape"

It's four hours to show time on Saturday and the Idols are wandering in and around the San Diego Sports Arena, killing time before the curtain rises on the 10th stop of their 50-city American Idol Live concert tour .

Kris Allen, dressed in what looks to be the same plaid shirt, black jeans and high-top sneakers he'll wear in concert that night, wanders into the arena from the direction of the nearby swap meet clutching a large soft-drink cup. A smiling Lil Rounds carefully pads around barefoot, cotton balls stuffed between her toes, so as not to smudge her fresh French pedicure. Michael Sarver, Danny Gokey and Matt Giraud cheerfully sign autographs and pose for photos for the crowd of 100 or so fans waiting patiently outside. And inside the arena, Adam Lambert's feet are hot, so before he sits down for an interview he pulls off his boots and socks (mischievously handing them to an amused crew member) and reveals 10 toenails painted with the same onyx polish that's on his fingernails.

Backstage Pass: American Idol Season 8, Adam Lambert

The Chaparral gained exclusive backstage access to the July 18 American Idol Live! concert tour in San Diego.

To start, here is a man who needs no introduction, Adam Lambert. Lambert, 27, was raised in North San Diego and has lived in Los Angeles for the last eight years. Before Idol, he was an understudy in the Los Angeles production of "Wicked." He audititioned in San Diego with "Bohemian Rhapsody" and had people first talking with his unique version of "Ring of Fire." He made it to the number two spot on American Idol, and since the show, he has graced the cover of Rolling Stone and been featured as "Artist of the Year" at the Young Hollywood Awards. Here's what he had to tell us.

The Chaparral: How’s the tour been going?

Adam Lambert: It’s good, it’s good. I’m exhausted, but… umm…

TC: You don’t look exhausted.

AL: Well, you know, make up does wonders! [laughs]

American Idol tour review: Adam Lambert outshines everyone in L.A.

In a venue that seats about 19,000 people, it seemed that every single person was there for Adam Lambert. The screams that occurred when prerecorded videos of Adam were shown onscreen were louder than most of the screams other singers received while performing. And against the highest of expectations, the boy delivered. His performances were vocally flawless, as increased rehearsal time allowed him to gain better control of his famous flamboyant screeches. His unapologetic naughtiness (drastically more so than anything seen on the show) and over-the-top presentation caused him to stand out not only as the most exceptional singer, but also as an incredibly magnetic entertainer. The energy from the audience during Adam’s set was exponentially greater than at any other moment of the show, and rightfully so.

That is not to say that the Idol champ did not hold his own. Kris Allen may not be a scene-stealer like Lambert, but he proved himself to be an abundantly talented vocalist and musician. The charming but reserved style of Allen sounded a bit odd immediately following Adam’s extravagance, but Kris is certainly capable of putting on a great show, and that will be better displayed when he gets a chance to perform on his own. Kris' widespread, easy-listening appeal means he has every opportunity and ability needed to create an amazing album and achieve long-term success.

With two shows down and 48 to go, Allison opened up about life on the road and performing for huge crowds.

Describing her first two shows as "amazing, fun, and great," Allison said she couldn't believe how awesome the crowds were. Tacoma was especially energetic and loud, according to Allison.

Riding a Rocket: Adam Lambert's just getting a handle on his American Idol-fueled fame

From the moment he sang for “American Idol” voters in February, Adam Lambert became the subject of more pop-culture buzz than any contestant in the show's history. But it wasn't until “Idol” ended in May that the Entertainment Weekly and Rolling Stone cover boy got to experience the Adam Lambert Effect for himself.

And frankly, it kind of freaked him out.

“I didn't get out in the real world all that much during my stay on 'Idol,'the 27-year-old singer said from Portland, Ore., where the “American Idols Live” tour kicked off earlier this month. The tour comes to the San Diego Sports Arena on Saturday.

Adam Lambert in his own words: Life, Love, American Idol

He’s a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School, a youthful veteran of San Diego area theater companies and, oh yes, the hugely popular runner-up in “American Idol’s” Season 8.

And this Saturday, American Idol’s 2009 Summer Tour takes Adam Lambert to the San Diego Sports Arena. The concert, which stars the top 10 finalists, including winner Kris Allen, is part of a coast-to-coast North American tour of approximately 50 cities, ranging from Los Angeles and Little Rock to Baltimore and Boston.

Adam’s many fans, called Glamberts, know that in addition to being a remarkable talent, Adam is bright and thoughtful, with a winning ability to avoid taking himself too seriously.

So here he is, talking about everything from his past to the future:

Adam Lambert on coming out and the American Idol Tour

The "American Idol 2009 Summer Tour" kicked off on July 5. Now, ET talks to season eight runner-up Adam Lambert about the tour, his upcoming album and why he chose to wait so long to come out.

ET: Can you talk about how you envision your upcoming album?

Adam Lambert: I am so excited, because I am getting to write with the top people in the business and that is such an honor. I never would have never gotten that opportunity if it hadn't been for this. A lot of people go, "Are you rock, or are you pop? What's your genre?" I did a bunch of different genres on "Idol," so I don't know why I have to pick one. It will definitely have elements of rock, but the production on it, the instrumentation sonically will be very modern and electronic. The word "pop" as a classification means that it is popular. All that really entails is that it is catchy. So, I want to write a bunch of catchy, rock-electro, dance, disco things with a lot of glam to it. Glam is about the visual presentation. It has very little to do with the actual music.

Adam Lambert, the in-control Idol

If there was any question that Adam Lambert stands out as one of the most interesting performers ever to strut through America's flighty pop culture conscience, then you need only chat with him a few minutes for confirmation.

Firstly, he just got a new iPhone and he's using it from his hotel room in Portland and he isn't quite sure how it works, so, um, sorry if he accidentally cuts you off.

And, secondly, don't think for one second that the hedgehog-haired glam rock sensation who almost won American Idol -- coming second in last May's finale behind the talented, mild-mannered Kris Allen -- isn't guiding his own light.

Adam Lambert Q&A with Odyssey Magazine

Every TV you turn on, every magazine you read and everywhere you turn everyone is talking about ADAM LAMBERT. This L.A.-based vocalist worked the club scene at venues like Society, Metro Mondayz and Shits & Giggles tearing up the stage up with his androgynous sense of style, voc al power and range to make even Mariah Carey jealous. He was inarguably the most talked about contestant on American Idol this season and one of People Magazines “Hottest Bachelors.” Adam is currently in the studio recording his debut album and about to embark on the American Idol Tour stopping at 50 cities in North America.

1) After years in Los Angeles trying to “make it” you have hit the big time. You must be on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. What is the hardest to cope with? Don’t say the paparazzi, we see the pictures, you’re eating it up!

Adam: The hardest part has to be maintaining my friendships. I’m so busy and I don’t want my friends to think that I’ve forgotten them. Its also difficult b/c old acquaintances now want to be my new BFF’s and it’s so obvious why. It’s flattering, but difficult to read peoples’ true motivation.

Allison Iraheta and Scott MacIntyre interview - American Idol Live

Scott MacIntyre and Allison Iraheta interviews backstage at American Idol Live

The Idols Live Tour

On the second night of the American Idols Live: 2009 Tour, the 10 were settling comfortably into their lives as wandering rock stars. At 3 p.m., the day was gray, frigid and windy outside. The subdued crowd of a hundred or so leaned in eerie silence against the metal barricade as Megan Joy walked down the row singing autographs and posing for pictures.

Inside, the ancient Dome seemed like it was just waking up, a universe away from the frenzied hub of activity around the tour kickoff at the Paul Allen-built stadium. In a cafeteria-like room set up with round tables and folding chairs, half the Idols came to visit the four members of the press corps on hand.

Building up to Show 2, gone already was the repressed frenzy of anticipation the Idols felt in the hours before opening night. Now that it was over, nearly all confessed to fighting back serious attacks of nerves, either from excitement or fear, in the countdown to Sunday night’s show. The giddiness that followed opening night seemed to have led the Idols' emotional roller coaster on a long loop-the-loop; the group reported staying up until 5 a.m. Monday, despite fatigue, to celebrate their their bow.

Adam Lambert Radio Interview 06/07/09 on Vancouver Talk 1410

Adam Lambert interviews with Vancouver Talk Radio 1410 on 06/07/09. Adam talks about the Idols Live Tour, Michael Jackson, fame, Mad World, and his Skin Graft tour jacket.

American Idols Live set list: Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert finished second? You couldn't tell it from this crowd, which greets the explosive sounds and strobing lights with shrieks. Adam kicks off his set with Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love, and the stage fills with smoke. He's wearing a blue-and-black metallic-looking studded jacket that comes down to his knees, along with a sleeveless black T-shirt and black pants. The crowd may have been dancing for Allison and Danny -- for Adam, they're screaming. Suddenly we've gone from the world of AC pop into a real rock show.

Second song is Muse's Starlight, and the six disco balls hanging above the stage turns the Rose Garden into a planetarium. It's Adam's typically impressive song choice -- for the arrangement, imagine Erasure's Andy Bell fronting the Sisters of Mercy -- and he sings it flawlessly, beautifully, slipping in and out of falsetto. (I wonder if this begins to approach what his album will sound like -- you wouldn't hear me complaining if it did.) Matt's version of Hard to Handle was pretty cool, but this is the first of the new numbers I'd lay down cash money to hear again.

Low-level fog creeps in, as Adam takes a seat on a stool to sing the Tears for Fears/Gary Jules song Mad World. The crowd is still on its feet, and they've brought out their cameras -- you could practically read in here, the flashes are so steady. Some people are singing along; most of them just look entranced.

The guitarist cranks out the opening chords to Slow Ride start, and the audience knows what's coming -- or, rather, who. Allison Iraheta walks on stage, and the place goes ballistic.

Now, he's doing the David Bowie medley he promised, which starts with Life on Mars (and the big red planet is behind him on the video screen). As he slides into Fame, the crowd shrieks again, but it's not for the song: Adam has shed his jacket, revealing the sleeveless T underneath. He's obviously been working with JaQuel Knight on choreography, too; he's moving lithely across the stage in a way Idol viewers never saw. The third number, Let's Dance, assumes a pulsing, throbbing club rhythm under his command, barely resembling the pseudo-horn-band arrangement of Bowie's original.

He finishes, then descends on the center-stage lift.

Adam Lambert and Lil Rounds interview - American Idols Live

Lil Rounds and Adam Lambert backstage interviews at American Idols Live

Adam Lambert, Kris Allen Hit the Stage Again as American Idols Live Tour Kicks Off in Portland

In true Robert Plant style, Adam Lambert made his arrival known, punctuating his three-octave howl on “Whole Lotta Love” with pelvic thrusts and microphone straddling, then quickly switched gears for the haunting “Mad World,” showing off his crystalline falsetto against a moody backdrop of smoke and twinkling lights. After reprising “Slow Ride,” his energetic duet with “little sister” Allison Iraheta, Lambert closed his set with a medley of Bowie songs, then sunk down into the stage to the loudest cheers of the night.

Marked by explosive bursts of noise and color, the countdown culminated in Season Eight champion Kris Allen, who eschewed theatrics for a straightforward set of Idol favorites, from the soulful, percussive “Heartless” to his stirring piano-and-vocals interpretation of Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine.” Calling for a sea of cell phones and lighters, Allen finished his set with a plaintive rendition of “Hey Jude,” bringing the rest of the Idols back on stage to close out the show with Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing”

Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Allison Iraheta Get Pumped for American Idols Live’s First Gig

“This is definitely the biggest crowd I’ve performed in front of,” said Adam Lambert, whose pre-show preparation includes some push-ups and sit-ups to get his blood pumping. There should be plenty of blood pumping in the audience, too, considering that Lambert is opening his set this summer with the awesomely over-the-top “Whole Lotta Love,” the Led Zeppelin cover that blew away the Idol judges (and fans). “It’s fun, it’s sexy,” he said.

Despite his rock god status, Lambert again confirmed he’ll be exploring a variety of genres — pop, dance, electronica, funk — on his upcoming album, which includes collaborations with producers Linda Perry, Sam Sparro, RedOne and Greg Wells. Iraheta, on the other hand, is happy to be nixing disco night and doing what she does best — rocking out. The raspy-voiced teenager is working on an alternative rock album with David Hodges and Kevin Rudolf.

Adam Lambert Never Felt Stifled by American Idol

Soon after the finale, MTV caught up with Adam Lambert to talk about losing to Kris Allen, music styles, the new album, and taking risks.

Q: With all the risks you took on the show, did anyone ever tell you "no"?

A: No! [Laughs.] The really cool thing about this show is that they've been 100 percent supportive of everything that I've done, every aspect of everything I've done, from the music to what I'm wearing to how I perform. I would go into a vocal session and be like, "Well, I have this idea. Can we try it?" "Yeah, sure, let's try it." [To] Ricky Minor and the band, I'd be like, "What about this? Can we try something like this?" "Yeah, let's try it, man." It's been very positive and creative. And never once for a second did I feel stifled in any way.
